Dr. David Kaplansky is part of a wound healing team at Mount Carmel East Hospital.
Mount Carmel East Wound & Ostomy Care Center is an out-patient facility that specializes in
treating non-healing wounds caused by diabetes, poor circulation, pressure, or surgical
incisions that have not healed. Our highly trained staff of doctors and wound nurses use a
comprehensive approach to help heal wounds that have resisted other forms of treatment.
The Center offers state-of-the-art care that addresses both the wound and its underlying
causes. Utilizing a holistic approach, the centers’ service coordinators, certified wound nurses
and collaborating physicians who specialize in acute and chronic wounds provide specialized,
individualized care for patients with all types of non-healing wounds.
Types of wounds that can benefit from the Wound Care Center’s therapies include:
• Diabetic foot ulcers
• Venous stasis ulcers
• Pressure sores
• Wounds resulting from traumatic injury or surgical incisional breakdown.
• Other non-healing wounds
For those suffering with a chronic wound, the treatment options can include foot care, vascular
testing, skin grafting and sometimes surgery. Education and counseling is an important aspect
of our service.
If you or someone you know has a sore or wound that has not started to get significantly better
in a month or healed entirely in two months, you should ask your doctor about the Mount
Carmel East Wound Care Center or call us today at 614-234-6588 for more information.
A physician referral is required for treatment. If you have a lower extremity wound, you may
contact Dr. David Kaplansky for such a referral at 614-291-5555.
